New Look's Pure Colour Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Moving on from the fact I shouldn't be buying anymore makeup- New Look have recently released their own makeup line; "Pure Colour". The line varies from mascaras, nail polishes and eyeshadow palettes and are all reasonably priced.

Pure Colour Eyeshadow Palette £4.99

  • 4 Satin finish shadows
  • Light gold shimmer  (similar to UD's Half Baked shadow)
  • Bronze gold (comparable to MAC's Woodwinked)
  • Rich brown shimmer (Similar to UD's Darkhorse)
  • Rusty rose gold shimmer (Slightly similar to UD's Toasted)
  • Creamy texture- easily blendable
  • Fairly pigmented- Although I wouldn't wear these shades without an eye primer
  • Suitable for all eye colours
  • Compatible with one another, darker shades on the right are perfect as a crease colour
  • Neutral shades ideal for day time looks

My overall thoughts on this palette are quite positive- the shadows have a comparable texture to those from MAC, for a much cheaper price. However the longevity of the shades, I feel could be better, however for only £4.99 you can't really complain. With Urban Decay's original eye primer, I don't really notice the short staying power. I'm not a massive fan of the tacky brush that comes with the palette, but once you go MAC, you never really go back ;) The palette itself is perfect for travelling, compact enough to add to your travel makeup bag. I definitely will be going back to New Look to add some more of the line to my collection.

Have you tried this palette, or anything from the Pure Colour line?
